okay, this was super difficult. it was a challenge for poetry club this week to write a backwards poem. to read it forward, and then read it backwards with it still making sense. this was fun, but it was hard.
we are all hopeful
there was a time not to long ago when the light stayed on
darkness never entered because light lived within us
we laughed and loved and cried and hugged and
dreams didn't exist because we were in the dream
through the door
we explore new meaning now
not many are like me
the light doesn't stay on anymore and
we are darkened people
because we lost sight in hope
we ran away from our fears
because we didn't believe in light
our future will be damaged
and we will suffer
the next generation will have to learn
from my generations mistakes
and our unbelief in the light within us
there is a light
we all have a light
we just need to find it again
we all have a light
we are all hopeful
